Born in 1971. I have lived in Seattle since 1989. University of Washington graduate with research and teaching experience. I am a cinematographer, producer, director and editor with experience at infographics and motion graphics. I'm known for my work as a documentary filmmaker. People usually hire me to perform the work of DP / Camera, but I am equally adept at mobilizing teams as a lead producer or supporting roles as an associate. I'm a freelance professional with 10 years contracting experience. I work out of two primary locations in the Ballard and University District neighborhoods of Seattle. I'm dedicated to working with non profit organizations, commercial enterprises and local government. I created Steve Hyde Films as a sole proprietorship focused on documentary style films for art, science and commerce. As an independent filmmaker, I'm dedicated to stories that illuminate cultural differences and build bridges of understanding.
