While majoring in English literature at Whitman College, I was particularly intrigued by the comedies of the Restoration and 18th Century, the tragedies of William Shakespeare, and the cathartic effects of both. Shortly after graduating, I did local theatre in Puget Sound region (singing in the Bellevue Opera and writing and performing in comedy sketches with the Pork Filled Players). I moved to Los Angeles where I received a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting, developed and adapted new and old television series for Sony Pictures Television International, and took improvisation classes at The Groundlings. Upon graduation, I moved back to the Pacific Northwest where I plan activities and events for a community of over 500 retirees. The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us to reinvent the way we stage events. My experience in film production and publishing came in handy and I'd like to utilize these skills and more to help grow Washington's film industry!
