Description

I’m Samuel. PIXELtechnics is a small production company I started in 2012. I’m a PNW native & I live in Tacoma WA. I love Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, The Office, football, tennis, snowboarding, music, short films, travel, and shooting on my Canon AE-1 film camera. I have a wife, Nicole, and together we have a son named Zeke!

Special Skills & Experience

I like directing & editing videos. I end up shooting a lot of them, too. I’ve played a heavy part in making vids for Microsoft, Amazon & AWS, REI Co-op, Brooks Running, Slalom, Swedish, Arbor, Imperial Motion, and more. I’ve developed a keen respect for the production process & find it gratifying when I can see an idea through to its manifestation in the editing room. I'd like to say I have a keen sense for pace & energy, and have a knack for eliciting emotion. I love what I do! I believe filmmaking is a collaborative effort & enjoy the people I get to do it with!

In 2023 I earned my Part 107 (drone) certification from the FAA. I also completed two short films. The first, "Sons Rising", is a coming-of-age film depicting many of the defining moments in the lives of men, from birth to fatherhood. This film took me a decade to complete, and it was the greatest mistake of my career. I can say that void of all emotion, and if you want to know why, I'd love to talk about it. The other short film I completed in 2023 was "ACED", which was a snapshot of a grudge tennis match between two bitter rivals. I'm more stoked about that one.
