Description

Having recently graduated from college with a BA in Media Studies and a minor in History, I have begun working as a Production Assistant on professional sets ranging from reality TV to corporate shoots. I enjoy collaborating with others on set to achieve the desired goals of the project at hand. My goal is to create documentaries that bring real material change to our world by introducing those whose stories deserved to be told. My experience creating short documentaries in school and on my own has opened my eyes to the breadth of knowledge stored within each person. It can be a matter of forming a relationship full of compassion and respect towards that person that can lead to unforgettable experiences. I bring to the film industry a heart that is full, and a mind that is driven to propel others to success as much as myself. Being on set requires effective communication and collaboration, two values I hold dearly as I navigate the professional film industry.

Special Skills & Experience

- compassionate - proactive - good listener - selfless - timely - positive attitude
- proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro - intermediate in DaVinci Resolve
- I worked as an Outreach Assistant for the feature documentary "Manzanar, Diverted: When Water Becomes Dust". Duties included contacting film festivals, completing deliverables that were created to achieve funding, and organizing a Day of Action livestream event that brought community members out to learn about the greater purpose of the film.
- I directed and edited a short documentary that looked at the struggle for labor rights through the eyes of a groundskeeper at my college. I created this film alongside him, breaking through the filmmaker-subject relationship that I have often seen exploit and misinterpret the story being told.
- I have co-launched "The Open Window Podcast", a platform designed to uplift the unique voices in the ultimate frisbee community that are fighting for social change both within the sport and our broader society.
- I am currently a Teaching Artist in Filmmaking at Coyote Central. This has been a pivotal role for me to take on as I am learning how to take I know about filmmaking and teach it to young students who are often learning the concepts for the first time.
