I'm a filmmaker who specializes in post-production. On set, I usually work on Camera Team, in G&E Dept, or as a post-production representative like DIT or VFX Supervisor. My background and education are in writing, so I have a solid understanding of storytelling and what is necessary; but from my years spent playing music in multiple bands, I've gained an appreciation for branding and creative direction.Of course, this all comes back to my passion which is storytelling. That's why I enjoy working as an editor so much. It's the putting together of all the puzzle pieces to finish the story and see the concept realized.
I think my strongest skill is my ability to learn new skills. That was the number 1 thing I got out of my MFA program besides the degree. I've written and directed a few short films as well as collaborated as a writer on some pretty fun narratives. Since my main goal is to be a fulltime freelance filmmaker, I am willing to jump into any department and see how it connects to what I already know. This is how I learned lighting, and as I've worked as a grip or gaffer on multiple sets now, my understanding of how it all works in conjunction with the camera has helped me when I work on the camera team.Primary Departments:Camera (cam op / 1AC)G&E (grip / gaffer)Audio (boom operator / sound mixer)Post Production (editor / sound designer / DIT)
